7th Grade Mute Day
In conjunction with our current Diversity Unit, all 7th grade students, with the permission of their parents/guardians, will be involved in Mute Day. Mute Day is scheduled for Tuesday, February 23 from 9:30 A.M. until 8:30 A.M. on Wednesday, February 24. During this 23-hour period students will experience the frustrations experienced by mute individuals. Through this simulation, they will further empathize with people in our world who are unable to speak.
Congratulations to the top 30 LMS students

CHECK OUT SOME OF OUR FAVORITE PROJECTS FROM LAST YEAR!
7th Grade Enhanced Podcasts
In conjunction with their Social Studies unit on the Medieval period of history,
students created enhanced podcasts using iMovie in the computer labs
during their English classes.
They wrote essays about selected topics they had researched; located appropriate images
to illustrate their written pieces; recorded their essays and synchronized their audio and video footage before converting their iMovie to QuickTime and uploading it to the server.
This was our first attempt for an entire grade level to undertake such a project.
Mrs. Bragg, Mrs. Grubb, Mrs. Landis and Mrs. Tipton invested a great deal of time
in making this opportunity possible for their students.
Using the link above you will find the students' efforts organized by their name
under their teacher and class period.

7th Grade Staff With "OutSiders' Attitudes"
On Monday, Sept. 15, 7th grade teachers helped “kick off†the reading unit of the study
of the novel The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. Teachers were given the choice of dressing up
as a Greaser or a Soc (Social) -- the two gangs/cliques represented in this classic novel
about friendship, heroism and belonging.
